Dr Ramesh Govind is the Director of the Space Geodesy Analysis Centre (Pty) Ltd (incorporating Van Martin Systems Inc.). Prior to this, he was Director of Space Geodesy and Geomagnetism and Senior Research Scientist at Geoscience Australia; followed by three years as an academic at the Division of Geomatics, University of Cape Town. He has over 35 years of experience in multi-technique Space Geodesy [GNSS, DORIS and SLR] and Gravimetry Geodesy. During a substantial part of this period he was a contributing member of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) and the International DORIS Service (IDS) Analysis Working Groups; contributing to their official analysis products, including the definition and construction of the ITRF. He also served on the Governing Boards of the ILRS and the Western Pacific Laser Tracking Network (WPLTN). His current activity is continuing the development and further enhancement of the MicroCosm Satellite Orbit Determination and Geodetic Parameter Estimation software suite. Dr Govind obtained a Master of Surveying Science in Gravimetric and Space Geodesy from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
